In order to successfully recruit the candidate that is visiting you for an interview, your offices should be impeccable. You want to convey to the candidate that you are the Employer of choice and not second best. Maintaining a professional atmosphere that is clean, tidy, and presentable will extend that message.
The Entrance. When the candidate first walks onto your property, he or she is immediately looking at how well your property is maintained. If he or she sees trash, poorly kept landscaping, signs that are falling off the exterior of your building and debris everywhere this will not send a positive message.
The Offices. The cleaning team should have touched up the offices, bathrooms and break room the day of or the day before. You must also have all of your marketing material available to hand out to the candidate in a portfolio so that they leave there with something to think about.
Beverages. Before the interview, have beverages available for the candidate. This includes a pitcher or bottles of cold fresh water, coffee, and carbonated beverages (both diet and regular) at your disposal. The goal of this is to accommodate the needs of the candidate and to make them more comfortable.
Your Team. When interviewing a Healthcare or Medical Professional for a high ranking position, it is important to dress accordingly. Your staff should be wearing business attire that is acceptable by your organization. If by chance you are having a "casual day" on the date of the interview, it would be advisable to have the key people meeting with the candidate dress with traditional business attire.
